The JCCMP offers several computer classes designed to help enhance employment opportunities for the residents of Marine Park and the surrounding communities.
The following is a sampling of classes offered throughout the year:
Basic Computers: Designed for individuals with very limited computer skills, participants will learn a variety of programs necessary in an office environment including: basic computer know-how, Windows, basic Microsoft Word, an introduction to the Internet, basic Excel spreadsheets, an introduction to Quickbooks accounting, and an introduction to Power Point presentations.
Comprehensive Quickbooks Course: Designed for individuals who want to learn Quickbooks in depth to improve employment opportunities in accounting and bookkeeping. To take the Quickbooks course, participants need to have basic computer skills such as turning on a computer, opening a program, and limited typing skills. Knowledge of Quickbooks has enabled prior students to obtain jobs as assistant bookkeepers or as staff in a small office where some working knowledge of Quickbooks is required.
Graphic Design: Designed for individuals who would like to gain basic practical skills in graphic design. Participants will learn the process of Graphic Design and how to use the main Adobe software applications to create and manipulate computer images and designs.
